Tarte Lipsculptor lipstick and ligloss review, swatch and overall verdict

My addiction for  lipsticks  are for real. People say summers call for bright lips while winter calls for deep reds but in my case be it any season I love my nudes.  Tarte is one of those high end brands which creates amazing  products  that are usually  raved about , I have tried their mascara  and liner  and was absolutely blown away with the results [ P.S review coming soon] . Today my post will revolve around tarte lip sculptor and lipgloss  from their double duty collection in shade VIP   . Lets see how it worked for me.

Packaging :-

The double duty collection from tarte consists of double ended liners and lipsticks / lipglosses. As the lip sculptor belongs to the collection it comes in double ended packaging , with one side lipstick while other side a lip gloss. I absolutely love  the look of the packaging , it has shiny  golden barrel cap which features the lipstick while the gloss is neatly attached to the bottom of the barrel in a transparent tube. I can say its sturdy and travel friendly too.

My take on the product:-

Pigmentation, shade , texture and staying ability :-

The tarte lip sculptor in ‘VIP’ is a flattering peachy nude shade which would compliment all skin tones  fairly. The idea of having lipgloss and lipstick at one go is what I loved about the lip sculptor , I am usually not a big fan of lipgloss but this particular semi sheer lipgloss from tarte has blown me away with its pretty color . The lipstick has  a creamy satin finish which feels hydrating and comfortable on the lips, its quite pigmented too as one swipe provides even coverage.  It glides like a butter on the lips and has a sweet vanilla fragrance which disappears after sometime  , Post application it looks beautiful on the lips and feels moist.  On the other hand the matching color gloss is like an added treat as it feels as creamy as the lipstick and has smooth texture which does not feel tacky or sticky on lips. Since the lipgloss is pigmented too it can be worn solo or even can be used as a top coat for other lip shade. I like  the formula of lip sculptors as they are creamy plus smooth  and are apt for someone with dry lips. However they do transfer a bit as the formula is satin finish but once applied it gives me an illusion of healthy  moisturized pretty lips ,I receive  tons of compliments whenever I wear this shade as it goes with every eye makeup and looks even better when paired with dramatic eyes.

Snapseed

As the lipstick has a satin creamy texture it stays on my lips for 4-5 hours  and leaves  a stain behind while the lipgloss  stays for 2-3 hours which is pretty standard  for a gloss. However if used as a top coat over a lipstick the lipgloss tends to stay longer .

Overall verdict :-

The tarte lip sculptor lipstick along with lip gloss definitely goes well with each other , I really loved idea of adding lip gloss in the double duty edition. If I feel my lips are getting dry then this is the only lipstick I reach for as it has creamy smooth texture  which feels non sticky and hydrating when applied .Apart from the formula I like  the shade too. If you are someone with dry lips then these tarte lip sculptors are something which you would love to wear all day  as they feel pleasantly hydrating .
